mangia mondays 58: sometimes...

howdy folks!
welcome to
a blog hop i co-host each week with my sweet blog-friend
lisa from shine your light.

this week, i had planned on sharing
s'mores brownie bites.
notice i said "planned on."
sometimes, things definitely don't go according to plan, see:

*sigh*
first, i tried the mini-muffin pan.
i think they would have worked if i had used a regular metal pan
instead of this silicon one. :(
they still taste awesome, though...
as you can see by the fork!
;)
then, i tried a regular sized muffin pan,
but the brownies just weren't baking fast enough,
so the marshmallows melted and they caved in.
UGH!

i just wanted you guys to know that i have a lot of incidents like this,
but i never post about them... because, let's be honest,
i want to be awesome!
i need to start keeping it real, though...
especially with little charlotte on her way!
this is how we grow & develop & learn!
next time, i know what to do differently...
& maybe it'll work
{or maybe it won't}.

now it's your turn -
link up those recipes & food posts!

how mangia mondays work:
. add a link to your recipe or food post & visit some others who have linked up before you .
. link back to mangia mondays anywhere on your blog .
. thanks for not linking up to giveaways or items you're selling .

until next time,
dowlings out!

  1. Aww I'm sure those s'mores brownie bites would have been absolutely delicious! I'm glad you posted this though, it reassures me that I'm not the only one who experiences things like this in the kitchen! Have a great week!

  4. I have many little kitchen "incidences" too! Thank you for hosting this linky party and for being genuine!

I added my Creamy Cabbage recipe — the only reason I ever have Herbs de Province in my cupboard. Does anyone have another use for Herbs de Province?

    1. I use herbes de provence in everything! Love the combo, especially the lavender. Here's a link to my Roasted Chicken with Herbes de Provence and Lemon if you're interested.

I also add them to marinara sauce, pasta salads, green beans, meatballs, just about everything. Hope you find some great recipes to use up you bottle. Your creamy cabbage sounds great!

  5. Kristin it certainly happens to all of us. Some things just aren't meant to work out. At least it still tasted good! :)

I'm sharing Baked Ricotta w/ Roasted Tomato Parsley Salad. Have an awesome Monday!

  6. How frustrating! At least you were able to eat them out of the pan, and the toasted marshmallows still look yummy. Kind of funny that the bottle of Pam is sitting right next to the stuck on pan. Don't let the people from Pam see that. Just kidding! I really hate cooking in silicon, too. It's not as great as they make it out to be. And it's hard to clean. Better luck next time! I shared my Aglio Olio Pasta Salad today. Have a wonderful day!
