chewy chocolate chip cookies

hello, friends!

there are few things i love more in this world than chocolate chip cookies.
they're classic!
but, it has taken me YEARS to find the *perfect* recipe.
you see, i like my chocolate chip cookies a little crisp on the outside,
but super chewy & delicious on the inside.
i don't need added frills
or a cookie with bells & whistles -
i'm a purist when it comes to my chocolate chip cookies!

so, here they are!

chewy chocolate chip cookies

1 C unsalted butter, melted
2 1/4 C bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 C sugar
1 1/4 C brown sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
2 Tbs milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 C chocolate chips

1. preheat oven to 375 f.

2. in a large bowl, sift together the flour, salt & baking soda. set aside.

3. cream the melted butter & sugars on medium speed. add the egg, yolk, milk & vanilla extract & mix until well combined. slowly incorporate the flour mixture until thoroughly combined. stir in the chocolate chips.

4. chill the dough, then scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets using a 3 Tbs ice cream scoop, 6 cookies per sheet. bake 14 minutes or until golden brown, checking the cookies after 5 minutes and rotating the baking sheet halfway through bake time for even browning.

5. cool completely & store in an airtight container...
if there are any left, that is!
;)
{i won't judge you!}

these cookies are heavenly straight from the oven with a giant glass of milk!
seriously, the best chocolate chip cookies i've ever made.

if you haven't already,
you can still link up to this week's
