today was a bit more eventful...
and exciting for my kitchen!
let me tell you,
my kitchen is small.
for the amount of cooking i do,
for the amount of items i like to have on hand
(so i don't have to run to the store every.single.day.),
my kitchen is tiny.
my spice cabinet was a mess.
couldn't find anything...
bought duplicates of a lot of things because of it.
my brother in law, peter, got magnetic spice jars for christmas.
i had seen them before... i liked the idea.
in fact, i fell in love with the idea when we went to my brother in law's house for new years eve and saw them again.
stopped at starbucks for an afternoon jolt,
came home and set up my work station.
after a couple of hours of label making,
i ended up with this:
i'm in love.
all of my spices are visible, easy to access, and in alphabetical order.
plus, i have a newly free shelf!
oh, the possibilities!
also, are you looking for a quick, delicious, healthy lunch option?
here's what i made for lunch today:
Roasted Garlic Hummus Wrap:
1 whole wheat flour tortilla
3 Tbs roasted garlic hummus
1/3 cucumber, sliced
1/2 tomato, sliced
1 Tbs feta cheese, crumbled
extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
paprika, for sprinkling
pepper, to taste
1. spread the hummus over half of the tortilla.
2. top with cucumber, tomato, and feta.
3. lightly drizzle with olive oil.
4. sprinkle paprika and pepper over top.
5. roll it up.
6. enjoy your healthy (and easy) feast!
something you should know:
we just got our awesome new camera back from my brother in law,
so half of the pictures were taken on the awesome new camera
and half the pictures were taken on my semi-awesome cell phone.
but, as always, i'll leave you with a super web cam photo:
muffin freaked me out.
dowling family, represent!
p.s. i don't have tuberculosis.
just in case you were wondering.
